Welcome to the deviantart group for Time Weasel! This can be like our secret club with handshakes and lemonade and everything.

Hopefully this will also make it easy to store updated reference documents online.

An essay explaining it all:…

Playlist: "Time Weasel: Required Viewing"…

I conceived of Time Weasel at a different time. A time when the 3D platformer looked dead. A time when I did not know the first thing about game development. When my mind hadn't been opened to the possibilities of interactive media.

That time is past. The platformer has made a glorious comeback, people are recognizing the power of whimsy, a game which is almost identical to ours in every way was just released today.

A cool protagonist with a techy friend has to go to the past to undo the wrongs of an evil villain thief. In each era in time he acquires new powers etc. etc. etc. This game has platforming which is tight as a drum, zany characters, everything.

But this is not the time to abandon Time Weasel. This is the time to look at what we have that makes our project special: strong characters, fleshed-out world, story flow, basically everything you guys have generously donated your time for.

I think that taking into account my coding abilities, (or lack thereof) what we have already, and the strengths of what we have, I think the way to go is to make a cross between a platformer and a point-and-click adventure. Something similar to Psychonauts, except with less emphasis even on platforming and combat. Focus more on puzzles.

I don't know when I'm going to do this or how, but for now, this is what Time Weasel is. It kind of feels more right than even the original idea felt. We had so much story, and most of it was going to have to be cut. But now we can actually use it. I think that this style of game will really work for what we have.

Thanks so much for reading, and thanks for everything!…

Watch it. The amazing Vincent Stimpson gave me this excellent model, and then I just had to write a few lines of code and boom. Kazim Janic walks and jumps and runs and everything. This is the beginning of the next stage for this project. It has been a long time coming. We've all become different people since it started. I want you all to know I've never forgotten for a second that it's possible because of the work you've put in.

Much love,

Hey everybody! Let's give a warm welcome to our newest member: Steve Hickey! Steve is a game design student at Brown College. We met at Richfield High School. He will be doing 3D modeling for us, and working in the UDK.

Guys, thanks to everyone who could make it to the party for making it a success!
During that week, Christof and I entered into deep deep Weasel quarantine and only had Weasel thoughts for four days. We made major progress in the identity of the worlds, specifically in the boss battles, and Bong Kong's nefarious plots. For instance, we decided that in Beijing, Bong Kong will be using a mind controlling device to amass an army of youths. I don't think it will be as heavy as it sounds. Anyway, this will all be coming when Christuagh types up and submits the wonderful notes he took.

SPENCER!!! I have a question!

So, I know we were talking about having the Jaguars wear Incan clothing, b ut would that be appropriate? The Incans were more mountain-dwelling than jungle-dwelling.

What are your thoughts? Should I continue with the Incan clothing nonetheless? Or do you want to work out another band to work with?

You bring up a pretty good point. I considered doing Maya instead, but the in the end I wanted the homeworld to be more mountainous, and I think the Inca's are a little more amiable, and distinguishable from the more Aztec looking enemies.
So I think that Inca would be pretty safe.

I say, if you feel you're doing history justice, go right on ahead with the Inca clothing. For my part, I feel totally comfortable with it.

+1,000,000 points for good thinking! Way to use your head, you big smarty smart smart!

Alright. I only ask because I was getting the impression that we were in the heart of the jungle, but are we moving slightly northwestward then?

I shall do my utmost to do history justice. I hope to have them posted soon! (Sorry for taking so's been a crazy month).

It certainly has. It's okay, there's no need to apologize.

And yes, we're thinking sort of flitting between the Andes and the Amazon. We might continue to do things like that in later worlds. For instance, I think one of the Beijing levels will be in the steppe, so some kind of journey is implied between levels.
